Clawson Elementary School

Dear Clawson Families 

 This letter is to inform you that beginning Tuesday, November 1^st, 7^th street from Bonita Avenue to 8^th Street Park will be closed due to construction by the City of Douglas. This closure includes the sidewalk on the south side of the street in front of the school, and Carmelita Avenue will also be closed since there is no thru access. During this time the school can not be accessed by the front of the building.

 We ask for your patience and understanding during this time, as we will be experiencing delays during pickup and drop off as our first priority is the safety of our students. Please make sure you are on time to pick up your child every day after school, as there will be no direct access to the front of the school or to the office. If your child is picked up by daycare or after-school care facility please inform them where the pick-up will be.

 Morning drop-off will continue to be at the MPR but access will only be thru 6^th street. We ask that you bring your child to school on time because access to our school will only be through the MPR during morning drop-off

 We ask that you refrain from picking up your child early from school during this week, however, we understand that emergencies do occur. If you need to pick up your child during the school day, you will need to access the school through the entrance on Carmelita Avenue. Our security officer and an office staff member will be located at the double red doors and will assist you.

 Afternoon pick-up will be as follows:

• PK-K will pick up from the cafeteria.
• 1^st and 2^nd grade will pick up from the center gate on 6^th street.
• 3^rd , 4^th, and 5^th grade will pick up from the west gate on 6^th and Bonita.

 Tutoring and Afterschool program dismissal will be out the center gate on 6^th street.
