Dear Joe Carlson, Parents and Guardians, we will have rainy day dismissal and pick-up on the south side of the library and cafeteria.
Please follow the pick-up route. 5th and 4th grades will be dismissed at the cafeteria (MPR) door. 2nd and 3rd grades will be dismissed by the library (middle) door. Kindergarten and 1st grade will be dismissed through the usual exit door (the last door) by the teacher's lounge.
Please stay in a one-car lane and stay alert with the bus route. Thank you for your patience and understanding. The safety and well-being of your child are our top priorities.

Joe Carlson, families, we have new absence guidelines information. Effective 03/25/2026, per the Superintendent, all student absences must be verified and excused by the parent or guardian either before the absence, but no later than the day of the absence, for it to count as an excused absence. All absences should be excused only through the front office staff.
Any absence that is not excused by the day of the absence will remain unexcused, no exceptions! We can no longer excuse absences after the fact.
If your child is absent, please call the front office at 520-805-4400, extension 5200, to report your child's absence. Thank you for your understanding and for your cooperation! I truly appreciate it!

On behalf of Joe Carlson, Students and Staff, we would like to express our sincere appreciation to the community members for their participation in our recent Career Fair on March 6th. Thank you, Arizona Border Alliance, Walmart, The Local CO-OP, Pirtleville Fire Department, HavenHealth, Douglas Fire Department, DUSD #27, Douglas Public Library, and Douglas Police Department! Their willingness to share their expertise and professional journey made a significant impact on our students. We know their daily work doesn't stop when you leave the job site, and we truly appreciate the extra hours they dedicate to volunteering with us. Please enjoy some of the pictures taken during the event.

Appropriate footwear is required, and no toy weapons are allowed. If your child is not participating, they must wear their school uniform. Thank you!
