Welcome Parents/Guardians,
On behalf of the entire staff, I would like to welcome you and your student to Stevenson Elementary School. The effects that COVID-19 has had on our community has disrupted and impacted our lives in many different ways. As a school we are still adjusting to the changes but our goal that each student will be able to grow and learn in a nurturing, positive, and safe learning environment remains the same. Your role as a parent/guardian is vital to the success of your student and we are all eager to work alongside you on your child’s educational journey.
Our first day of school is on Thursday, August 5, 2021 and instruction begins at 8:00 AM. All students will enter the school at the gate closest to the parking roundabout. To help ensure the safety of students in the parking lot area, students should only exit the vehicle after it pulls up to the drop-off sign in the roundabout.
Breakfast will be served in the cafeteria from 7:30 AM to 7:55 AM. At 7:45 AM, students will be released from the cafeteria to the playground so they can socialize and play. Teachers will pick up students from the playground at 7:55 AM in order to start the academic day at 8:00 AM. To help ensure school safety, only students and school personnel are allowed to be in the cafeteria or on the playground. As a reminder, all visitors must be “buzzed in” through the front office gate and are required to sign-in.
The school day ends at 2:30 PM on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. Early release days are on Wednesday and dismissal at 1:00 PM. Below is our dismissal procedure:
Kindergarten and family dismissal will take place at the parking roundabout.
1st and 2nd grade students will exit the school at the 11th Street gate by the flagpole
3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students will exit the school at the 12th Street gate near the basketball court
We kindly ask that students be picked up promptly at dismissal time. To help ensure school safety, parents/guardians are required to wait outside the school gates when students exit the campus.
